Not wanting to confuse you -- but wanting to walk you through a snap shot in time of how the new system for qualifying for the Championship will work. If we were pulling the Championship field TODAY; this is what it would look like. Remember, only teams completing 3 tournaments in their division are eligible for the Championship. Also -- remember -- that according to the rules you must launch BOTH DAYS of the tournament in order to keep your points and stay eligible. If there's motor trouble or anything, this still applies.

230 fill rate so far in East (101 Detroit River/Lk Erie; 67 Henderson harbor and 62 Sag Bay) means we will take 5% of the unique teams from the EAst. There are 149 unique teams so far; so that is 7.

585 fill rate so far in the Central (220 SV; 197 Bay de Noc and 168 Lake Pepin) That means 9% of the unique teams will go to the Championship from the Central -- or 26 teams. If we get 15 more teams so that it gets to 600 before Lake Pepin, that % will go up to 10%.

There are 80 Challenge Teams. 20% is 16. We will take 16 teams from the Challenge roster, skiping over anyone that previously qualified from their division.

A couple of points here. Several East teams have fished 3 tournaments of their 4 for the season. Because of that, they are falling below some of the Central teams that have only fished 1 tournament so far. But once all the tournaments get "in" it will shake out.

Hope that makes sense.

Please let me know if you need to see the reports with this; or if you can look them up on this website to see where this came from.

This makes a Championship roster as of today of 49 teams. That would be the minimum. It could be higher as we gain more teams in the divisions and more teams in the Challenge.

Or call me -- or Jeff -- if you have questions.
