As of today the river is closed. The water is just below the top of Barto landing. The current is very fast. The word is, the river may be open tomorrow but probably Tuesday. Rain is predicted for Monday and Tuesday. Any more rain could cause the river to rise again. I am very concerned the MWC has forgot about the anglers and the "MWC business" is number 1 priority. I am dying to fish. My fishing fever has reach 106 degrees but spending money to attend a tournament that is in doubt has me worried. We have 6 days left with an unacceptable chance of being unfishable. Every year there is a chance, but generally a small chance of calling off. This year we are prabably over a 50% chance of calling off the tournament. The decision needs to be made Monday morning. If teams choose to not gamble on the river, they should be allowed to use their entry to fish another tournament of refund. In our current economy, you better keep the anglers happy or you will not have any who will fish the MWC. Check out what the FLW is doing after their cancelled tournament.

I agree. look what happened after the last time they let the anglers out in the flood. They dropped 1/3 rd of there participation. This year only 1/2 of the normal field. If they make another bad call, I think they can say goodbye to the MWC all together.(All eyes are watching)

The river is predicted to be under 22' ft by Wednesday morning, and below (20')flood stage by Saturday. There isn't a bunch of rain in the forecast except for a chance of showers Monday and a chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday. We all fished last year at 18.5+ feet and it wasn't one bit perilous. So why not just calm down and look forward to a great tournament next weekend?
