A couple things come to mind..
How about both Flights get a Solid 8 hours fishing ????
What about the Tournament being held on Friday & Saturday so we could use Sunday for travel ???

I think Fri and Sat. would be great and 7am to 4pm would be even better, but It gets late in a hurry with 3 flights. I would also like to have Sun. for some of the long drives home as well. Maybe one day The MWC will come to Maryland. LOL
I can dream can't I. Smiler

We've talked about it. Couple issues....

1) At Spring Valley we have to have the elevator closed down for our tournament. They will do that Sat/Sun; but not Fri/Sat.

2) Most cities we go to we work with a team of volunteers -- usually from a walleye club like Downriver Walleye Federation or Spring Valley Walleye Club. The volunteers are much more available for a Sat/Sun tournament format; we'd be hard pressed to inspect boats and assist on the ramp in the mornings otherwise. Or have a team of 30 volunteers at weigh-in at 2 o'clock on a Friday.

3) From our staff perspective -- we'd LOVE to move to Friday/Saturday just like you. It would be so nice. But the above two points make it hard to seriously consider.

Could we do Fri/Sat for some tournaments and just not for Spring Valley?

How many of you think Fri/Sat would be preferred?

On a scale of 1-5;
1=strongly disagree
2=disagree
3=don't care/no opinion
4=agree
5=strongly agree

What is your thought to moving "most" of our tournaments to Fri/Sat (where feasible)?

I strongly agree we should have are tournaments on fri/sat. It would also allow us to enjoy the awards ceremony, instead of jumping right in the truck and heading home so you can be at work on Monday. It's funny you bring this up, my partner and I we're talking about the same thing on the way home. You got are vote.

I strongly disagree with the Fri/Sat. It would cut into the prefishing for some of us who struggle to get the time off of work.

2 - Disagree My thought is I don't like losing the day of prefishing on Friday and having to take another day of vacation to "get" that day back. I would rather drive Sunday night after fishing. Only exception to that is having Friday, Saturday, Sunday scheduled like last year at Dunkirk for Erie lake events to try to make sure we get out.

Well know I've seen both sides of the fence..I'll have to admit I never thought of the logistics part of the equation..
As Doug said I'd also like to take in closing ceremonies.If you don't collect a check your headin for the truck..
Just my thoughts I can go either way..
How about that 8 hours of fishing ???????
Thanks....

Friday/saturday or saturday/sunday. It doesn't much matter to me. If the tournament is farther than 3-4 hours away, I always take an extra day of vacation and drive back monday. If they were friday/saturday, I'd probably take the friday before off. I'd use the same amount of vacation per tournament.

I have no opinion on this matter... Friday/Saturday... or Saturday/Sunday does not matter much to me.

Could you clarify when it says off the water at 2pm on Friday... that means you should have your boat on the trailer at 2pm? Or does it mean you can fish until 2pm and get back to the boat ramp whenever?

I agree with Doug and Alan,it would be nice to have a travel day on Sunday and be able to stay for the awards ceremony.The long drives on Sunday after fishing all day are tough.

Off the water by 2:00 means exactly that. Your boat should be on the trailer or docked by that time. How could Kristine and her crew know if you were just motoring back or searching with the graph for fish ?

Some more thoughts on this subject...The FLW an the PWT how do they launch thier boats during the week ?????? I'm looking at a SAFETY factor here after a hard day fishin then having to drive long distance for work on Monday or take another day off..
Lets see Tourny over on Sat. nice ceremony then a nice dinner with some friends a good nights sleep off in the morning all rested..
Sounds good to me...

I would be a 2, your likely going to come up a day short on the Friday start if you have too prefish on Mon Tue, Wed or Thur. Maybe harder for some guys to get more time off during the week as well. Also I recall long waiting times and lines to get boat checks at FLW/PWT events without a lot of volunteers to help during week days.
