If you know you are going to sign up as an Early Bird team in 2006 -- and have a desire to serve on the Angler Advisory Panel -- please drop me an email at: khoutman@namginc.com.
We ask you to serve a two-year term. That way, we have some members staying on the AAP each year, which gives a little consistency in handling issues from one season to another. We have four seats from EAST and four seats from CENTRAL. Two will be open in each.
CENTRAL Rick Stange (has completed his 2 year term) rstange@crs-usa.com Don Kohl (has completed his 2 year term) lonewolffishing@aol.com Mark O'Brien (still on for 2006 -- IF he fishes all three tournaments, he wasn't sure last fall.) marko@flexoimaging.com Paul Fournier (still on for 2006) pfournier@bsdgroupinc.com
EAST Matt Davis (has completed his 2 year term) mattdavis@hordlivestock.com Paul Kemery (has completed his 2 year term) kemery@pennswoods.net Keith Eshbaugh (still on for 2006) keshbaugh@earthlink.net Pete Lewis (still on for 2006) peter.lewis@kodak.com
We talk about schedules and rules and "incidents" and payout. Everything is fair game. Anglers have a lot of input -- however -- this is a business and our company isn't handing the decision making over to a committee. But there's still a lot of room for impacting the circuit. And if you LOVE fishing the MWC and want to continue to see it get better and stronger -- then you might be the type to be on the board.
1. We want lively discussions on issues. So "quiet" doesn't cut it in the AAP. One has to be ready to speak up and get into the conversation. Once in awhile I've been known to throw a doozy out there -- just to see who's paying attention....and who's going to jump into the conversation. 2. AAP members should be committed to the MWC. If you're just in this for a season; don't know if it's where you'll be fishing for a few years -- then don't put your hat in the ring. We want people who really like fishing the MWC -- and want to for years to come. And want it to be the best it can be to grow and be better. 3. AAP members should think outside their own interest. If you're a really big jig fisherman; I don't want you do offer up only location suggestions where jigging is the primary presentation. If you can see the "big picture" that will help a lot. 4. AAP members need to be pretty diligent in reading their email. We only get to meet in person at the tournaments -- so most of the other times we "talk" about stuff is through email. If you're not a daily email checker -- don't apply. It'll frustrate everyone on the AAP when we send out emails and you don't read them or don't respond.
I think that's about it. Feel free to ask the guys that have served on the AAP this last year if you have more questions of them. Their emails are listed after each of their names above, so you could contact them if you have questions.
You're more than welcome to chat with me about it as well.
