The Beckstrom event was amazing! There were SO many people there -- wall to wall. And we accomplished everything we hoped to for Jake and his family!!
I'm afraid I left town on Monday morning for vacation, so I'm waiting for a final reconciliation. However, I can tell you this much.
WE HIT OUR GOAL OF RAISING $100,000! Isn't that great!!!
The winner of the raffle was one of the guys that we work with -- Terence Spanier. He is our print buy manager and has worked with Kurt for MANY years. I've been here 11 years and Terence was here before me. We sold THOUSANDS of dollars of raffle tickets at work, so it isn't a surprise that someone from the office won. We printed 5001 raffle tickets and sold every single one -- even if the last book was being written on within the last 5 minutes of the drawing. So we raised $25,005 on the raffle. The Sunday event raised a little over $68,000. NAMG/MWC HQ had an invitation for the employees to make a contribution; and the company would match funds. And we raised $20,035. How about that. Elaine's company, one of our major printers, etc., lots of others made cash donations, too. So we know we hit the $100,000 we had for the day. We'll know the final tally in a week or so after all the items have been paid for and picked up. Some were not as of Sunday so that makes a lot of work for finishing things up.
Oh...and Walt Danilowski won the iPod for 3rd place on the raffle. 2nd place was in attendance, but I don't have that name with me while I'm out of town. Sorry. They already picked up the home theatre stereo system.
Many thanks to all of you who contributed items and/or bought raffle tickets -- or attended.
It was a great day! How about some comments from some of you that attended? What did you think?
(and don't be too hard on us for checking out. We have hundreds of people want to check out at the same time and it just bottle necked at the end. Luckily, everyone was VERY NICE about it! No grumps! YEA!)
Kurt, Elaine, Jake & Gus were VERY thankful and appreciate for all the hard work and support from so many people to make this all happen.
