Early bird entries are arriving at a nice pace! We have 46 early birds for MWC Central with 27 teams (58%) picking up a fourth tournament for the MWC Challenge.

There are 7 MWC East early bird teams with two teams (28%) picking up a fourth tournament for the MWC Challenge.

All together we have 53 early bird teams so far...

Please remember to get organized for your photos for the Early Bird Directory Booklet. The turnaround is VERY TIGHT on that job and we need everyone to reply back quickly.

Things to remember:
* We use individual photos (just head and shoulders)
* Wear a collared shirt (not a t-shirt or sweatshirt)
* Hats are okay -- just don't let your face get too dark with lighting. Tip brim of hat up a bit...
* Sponsors logos are always a good idea on hats or shirts
* keep the background plain with good lighting

By the way -- I'll be pulling together TWO Angler Advisory Panels soon -- MWC Central and MWC East. The AAP members are selected from the Early Bird registrations.

I try to get people who approach MWC from different perspectives. Some that fish as husband/wife teams. Some that fish as father/son teams. Some that are seriously competitive and focused on the money-- some in it for more relaxed fun. Try to get a blend of states represented, guys & gals, etc.

What's involved? Meeting every tournament for about an hour or two. MUST have access to email since that is one of the ways we stay connected in between tournaments. During the year the AAP reviews issues that crop up re: policies and procedures. The AAP gives an anglers perspective to the decision makers of MWC -- and that's VERY valuable. But it's not a decision making group in and of itself.

If you are interested in serving on the AAP please email me at khoutman@namginc.com.

We usually have four anglers plus Kaz and myself on the panel. But, because of the two divisions we'll need four anglers from Central and four from East.

Thanks for your consideration.

Oh -- one more thing. We've decided to keep at least one returning member for continuity from one year to the next. So while most are asked to serve a one year term, we will be having one AAP member back for a second term in MWC Central. (And yes, they volunteered for the re-up!)

Up to 64 early bird entries.

By the way -- don't be too stressed on the small number for MWC East. They don't have the history out there to justify "early bird" status. Are they worried their tournaments are going to be filled February 2nd? Probably not -- although Saginaw Bay is a possibility. So, with their first tournament not until May -- they don't have to get in their first entry fee until April. Some newer East anglers may not understand the benefit of the Early Bird Directory booklet that we publish, etc. They don't have finishing position from the year before...so it's just a little different animal. The only thing that will count for an evaluation of "success" is the number of teams for the tournaments. Not how many signed up early bird. Hope that helps...

Hi Kristine
My Son and I are rookies to the MWC this year so we will have some questions Im sure.
I would like to know if their is a mininum amount of entries required at Henderson or elsewhere? We are looking forward to this year and making many new friendships Thanks for your help.

Wahoo! Another MWC East Early Bird team. Keep 'em coming...

Jim, about your question. We don't have a contractual minimum number. So we're coming with whatever roster we get. However, we would be quite disappointed if we were unable to draw 50 teams. If we draw 100 teams, we'll feel like we've had a success. Anything in the middle....well, we'll re-evaluate and see.

Here's what a payout would look like for 100 teams: (fifty would be half)

First: $13,920
Second: $6,720
Third: $5,280
Fourth: $4,320
Fifth: $3,360
Sixth: $2,880
Seventh: $2,400
Eighth: $1,920
Ninth: $1,440
Tenth: $960
Eleventh - Fifteenth: $840 each
Sixteen & Seventh: $720 each

Total: $48,840

Does that help a bit?

82 Teams

Oh-- and one clarification regarding the MWC East estimated payout above. For 50 teams the total payout would be about "half" of what's listed for 100 teams; but because we pay out 17.5% of the field we'd pay down 8 places in that scenario.

92 and still climbing! Looks like we'll have half the field as early bird teams for MWC Central.

For those that are wanting in for single tournaments -- be sure to FAX your entry form in on February 2nd (after 8am). I'll put another post up re: that procedure. But just make sure that it gets in that day if you're serious about wanting in.

91 Central; 10 East for a total of 101 as of Monday morning January 26th.

This is the last week to send in early birds. Per the rules, we must receive the entry prior to Noon on Friday, January 30th. Since you can't gauge "snail mail" from the post office that tightly, faxing is highly recommended.

Our fax number is 952-936-9755. The entry form can be found on this website under the navigation bar "registration" on the left.

Welcome aboard to all the new early bird teams for 2004. Looking forward to a great year.

questions? Ask them here on the bulletin board -- or email us at events@masterswalleyecircuit.com

Thanks!

Kristine

Today's the last FULL day to get in early bird entries. Tomorrow, 1/30/04 we will only accept early bird entries until NOON. We will communicate boat numbering immediately after that -- and know what we have to work with on Monday for single tournament entries.

If you put an entry in the mail and it has not been posted yet, we may not receive it in time. To hedge, you should fax in an entry with a credit card payment today! Later, should the check arrive we could always reverse the credit card payment and cash the check if that was preferred. But we must have the signed application with payment by Noon tomorrow. No exceptions.

I think we're winding down and this will be pretty close to complete. Maybe one or two stragglers yet today/tomorrow morning.

Kind of exciting knowing that half the field is already spoken for, isn't it?!

Keep those directory forms coming in guys & gals! We have a tight deadline and need all of you to turn the form around very quickly. Thank you very much for your cooperation on this.

I've had a couple of calls re: the "few" entries I mentioned that were already received and placed in the 2/2 box.

Because the letter of the rules state that entries may not be submitted for single tournaments until AFTER 8am February 2, 2004, I will return these entries and ask the participants to fax in on Monday after 8am.

Next year, I believe we will re-write the rules so that it doesn't put such a hardship on a particular day. I'll re-group on this subject with the new Angler Advisory Panel after it gets established. But meanwhile, wanted to let you know that we would be correcting this.

Help, I do not remember seeing any directory forms, were they sent to team captains? Is there any online? And where do I send in team photos? The team captain for our team is out of town for awhile and I was trying to get this taken care of, please let me know.
Thanks
Al Stewart
E-Mail address is: astewkstew@comcast.net

P.S. I send an email with the photos attached to the contact us address and it was returned unfound.

Wow -- 120 MWC Central and 11 MWC East Early Birds for a total of 131.

Doubt if we'll get but one or two more today...but if we do we'll post it here.

Thanks, all, for getting entries in and being all jazzed about the season.

The directory forms are sent out in batches for the entries we get that week. If you entry as has been posted here for more than a week you should have received it by now. Both parties get the mailing, so there should be two for each team to work with.

I'll talk to our internet team this morning and see if they can put the form up on the "registration" page so everybody can just print their own and send in. (should have thought of that one sooner!)

If we do that I'll put a post here.
