Jake Beckstrom (Kurt's son that was injured two years ago) is in ICU with a blood infection. They are hopeful that they have found the one antibiotic that will get this, but it has been very "hairy" (to use Kurt's words) the last few days.

Please pray for Jake's recovery and for Kurt & Elaine and the whole family!

Kristine, this is sad news but thank you for letting us know. I will continue to keep Jake and the entire Beckstrom family in my prayers.

Jake is doing better. Kurt emailed me this morning that the blood infection is under control -- so that is good. He is having some trouble with one kidney right now -- and they are talking about surgery/removal. We are waiting to hear more on that. Hope not!

They removed a kidney stone from Jake last week, but after that short recovery he was moving into his new dorm at college. He's attending Minnesota Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota.

An exciting next step for Jake.
