Not sure how I missed replying to this last week -- sorry.
Yes -- boat numbers will be based on the finishing position
for the teams that made it to the championship. However, any teams that are early birds but did not make it to the championship
will have boat numbers assigned randomly. A new team will be assigned randomly. We've had too many trouble with one guy
returning with a new partner and he wants the finishing position. But...if they weren't the team that made it to the championship
(exact same two people) than theirs will fall into that random method. Now...if a team finished 10th but two teams ahead
of them chose not to sign up as early bird next year -- then they would move up to 8th. Hope that makes sense. Of course
-- early bird teams for the central division may end up with a different number for the east division Challenge tournament.
Kristine There was some discussion about a possible early bird flight for 2004. Is this still in the works & if so, how
will that work out as far as boat numbers when the Challange teams fish the one tournament from the other division? Thanks, Rick Stange

We've been back & forth on this a few times -- and I must say I'm not convinced that it should be an early bird team out first
both days. The reason I'm more skeptical now than before is because of some of the critique when I flighted the top 25 teams
at the Championship. (1-25 when out first on day 1 and day 2. Just reversed order on day 2. Day 3 was based on standings.)
I really can't tell yet without knowing the size of the early bird group, either. So.... it's not decided.
